Part 7 - Schellenberg
Malbun is a small village turned into a ski resort. It consists mainly of hotels and cottages laid out in a small valley.
I see three lifts. Two of them are not currently in operation and it seems that they are meant to serve the ski tracks during the winter and the one that works can take us to the nearby peak.
The view from the peak is breathtaking (like Keanu Reeves). There is a restaurant on the top. I should warn the would be tourists that it might be a little cold but the greater danger is sun burns. The sun in the mountain is a serious thing. We came back with red noses.
An edelweiss
A nice Swiss man informs me that the border with Austria follows the mountain peaks.
View of Austria from the border
The most impressive thing in Malbun was not the view but the sounds. Specifically one sound - the constants song of many cowbells which ring across the whole valley. Even when you cannot see the cows you hear the bells - on the peak, in the restaurant, on the lift...
In the next part we are visiting Eschen
