Do you know... Types of publications on Hobblife.
Hello friends. It is time for our second blog post of the "Do you know..." series about Hobblife in which in brief we tell about the interesting features of the platform and why it is so useful to anyone who has a hobby or is looking for a new hobby. In this article we will tell you some more about the types of publications on Hobblife and how they are different from each other. But before we start, if you have not done it already, you can read the first blog post about Hobblife in the link bellow:
Do you know... what is Hobblife?
Now lets go back onto the topic of the different types of publications on Hobblife.
There are 4 /four/ different types of publications - Blog Post, Question, Post, Marketplace listing. Some of you may get confused about there being 4 different types but it is not complicated at all, it is just a bit different to what we are used to see on other social networks:
I. Post
You publish a Post if you want to share some pictures, a link, a YouTube video or just write something short. This type of publication is quite similar to what you are used to do when you want to post a "status update" on the other social networks.
You can publish a Post by clicking on the field located at the top of your feed, where it says "Write something here or post a picture":
Please keep in mind that Post type is only visible to users who are logged in on Hobblife. You can share the Post by clicking on the three dots icon, located in the upper right corner of the Post and then selecting the "Copy link" from the menu. Then paste the link anywhere you want to share it:
II. Blog Post
You publish a Blog post when you want to write a longer article with text and photos that will also be accessible and visible to non registered users. Similar to a topic on a forum, the Blog Post has its own separate page, the option for text formatting and uploading of photos as well as the option for any user to post comments to your Blog post. This way you could start a discussion that will remain in time or you can show your progress in the hobby by regularly updating your Blog Post.
You can visit the page for creating a new Blog Post by clicking the button "Write a Blog Post", located at the top of the feed:
After you click on the button, you will be redirected to the page for writing a new Blog Post. There you have to input a title and body and also should select the hobby and language for the Blog Post. If you want to format the text or upload photos, you can use the markdown toolbar, which we will discuss in more detail in one of the following articles:
As we already mentioned above, Blog Posts are accessible and visible to non registered users and you can share them anywhere you want - on social networks, groups, chats, forums and more. You can share the Blog Post by clicking on the three dots icon, located in the upper right corner of the Blog Post and then selecting the "Copy link" from the menu. Then paste the link anywhere you want to share it. Alternatively, you can also copy the Blog Post's link from address bar of your browser located at the very top of the browser window.
III. Question
If you want to ask something related to the hobby and to get a quick answer from a fellow hobbyist, you can publish a Question. Hobblife introduces a new and very convenient question and answer functionality where any user can publish a question and receive one or more answers. After that the person who is asking may accept one of the answers that worked for him, thus helping anyone else with a similar problem in no time to find a fast solution that works. Furthermore the author of the accepted answer will be rewarded by receiving points and reputation. Apart from that, any user can vote for the answer they find most accurate.
You can visit the page for asking a new Question by clicking the button "Ask a Question", located at the top of the feed:
After you click on the button, you will be redirected to the page for posting a new Question. There you have to input the title and body and you should also select the hobby and the language for the Question. If you want to format the text or upload photos, you can use the markdown toolbar, which we will discuss in more detail in one of the following articles.
Questions are accessible and visible to everyone, non registered users included, thus you can share them anywhere you want - on social networks, groups, chats, forums and more. This way you can write the question one time on Hobblife and share it to multiple places so more people see it and answer it.
You can share the Question by clicking on the three dots icon, located in the upper right corner of the Question and then selecting the "Copy link" from the menu. Then paste the link anywhere you want to share it. Alternatively, you can also copy the Question's link from address bar of your browser located at the very top of the browser window.
IV. Marketplace listing
If you want to sell, buy, exchange or gift goods or services related to hobby, you can publish a listing in the marketplace. You can go to the Hobblife marketplace by clicking on the marketplace icon located in the top blue bar (next to the notification icon) or by clicking on the blue "Visit Market" button located on the right column of the feed.
Once you are in the Marketplace, you can go to the new marketplace listing page by clicking on one of the "Sell / Buy" buttons located at the top of the left column in the marketplace feed:
Then you'll see the new marketplace listing page. You must enter a title, hobby, language, price, currency, city and country. You also need to select the expiration date, or for how long it will be active on the marketplace. Then you should write a short description of the goods or services. If you want to format the text or upload photos, you can use the markdown toolbar, which we will discuss in more detail in one of the following articles.
Marketplace listings are accessible and visible to everyone, non registered users included, thus you can share them anywhere you want - on social networks, groups, chats, forums and more. This way you can write your listing one time on Hobblife and share it to multiple places where more people, who might be interested in it, will see it. You can share the Marketplace listing by clicking on the three dots icon, located in the upper right corner of the listing and then selecting the "Copy link" from the menu.
